Robert Boocheck

Boocheck is known for his inventive commercials, music videos, and films. His ability to weave together comedic performance with playful visual executions is his filmmaking superpower.  He has a special knack for making fantastical characters - sentient statues, talking bubbles, giant monsters - feel grounded and believable.

Boocheck began his film career working for director Sam Raimi. He went on to direct music videos for seminal punk and indie bands such as Bad Religion and Death Cab For Cutie. His video work garnered much acclaim and was exhibited at the world renown MOCA in Los Angeles.

He has directed hundreds of commercials for major brands such as Google, Visa, Samsung, Geico, Toyota, and Ray Ban. He has worked with top agencies like Droga5, 72 & Sunny, BBDO, Ogilvy, Grey, and Crispin (to name a few). His spots have racked up numerous awards such as multiple Clios, One Shows, and Webbys. Both Shoot and Ad Age have called him a “Director to Watch”.

His short films have been shown at major festivals including Telluride, Toronto International Film Festival, and Fantastic Fest. He also has a segment in the popular cult horror anthology, ABCs of Death 2 (Magnolia/Drafthouse). Aside from his film work, he’s a Dad currently living in NYC who makes street art in his spare time.
